| Being
a rather imaginative child, LaMonica Armond chose to spend most of
her playtime drawing and creating doll clothes. As she grew into her
teens, she dreamed of designing clothes. "I am going to be a
fashion designer," she declared. Equipped with ten years of art
instruction, the Milwaukee native felt the time was right to pursue
her childhood dream. Three years into her studies, she was given the
vision to design liturgical robes. As a result her line called "Sacred
Garments" made its premiere April 2000. The first creation called
"The Cynthia" was co-designed with her mentor, Saundra E.
Baker of "Fig Leaves by Saundra Elaine." LaMonica states,
"Because we were faithful to God in sowing (donating) the first
robe as our first fruit offering, we received Divine inspiration for
many more beautiful designs."
With faith and
confidence in her calling as a fashion designer, LaMonica has begun
her "Dream Line" of women's evening attire. The name "Armond
Joseph," she gleams as she relates, "Joseph and his story
of faith and perseverance is one of my favorite Bible stories. Just
like Joseph, my journey first started with a dream."
LaMonica is
motivated by the success stories of today's leading designers, and
with all do respect of her fellow designers, LaMonica proclaims
her objective is to "dress people up in the very best!"
"Armond Joseph" clothing and accessories reflects this
philosophy by using the best in materials and LaMonica's keen sense
of design.
